Kroger

So I’m a little pissed at the Kroger Company. First, they don’t offer enough in the way of fat free food selection, and especially cheese and chips. The little they do offer is between 50 and 100% more expensive than the fattening fare, and is excluded from the sale when that product goes on sale. I’ve written to Kroger about it, and they said they would contact the marketing people in Louisville, who will probably pull in a focus group made of ignorant, slovenly hicks who will tell them that they won’t touch anything without the full caloric artery clogging goodness because they would be missing out on vital aspects of their culinary experience of individually wrapped slices of processed cheese-like substance.

But what really got my goat today was the Kroger brand *100% Natural Cereal* that I’ve been eating. I checked the contents, and it has 2g of trans fats per serving. How is hydrogenated soybean oil *natural*? Things are not *natural* merely because the components were collected somewhere on the planet Earth.

Kroger's response? It must be natural or we wouldn't call it that.
